Hier trifft Tradition auf Dynamik, ursächsische Gemütlichkeit auf Hightech-Business und klassische Kultur auf Avantgarde. Die Themenschwerpunkte für Leipzig sind Multifunktionalität und Mehrfachnutzung von Schulen im Quartier, Inklusion und die nachhaltige Gestaltung von Freiflächen.
Bis 2030 werden insgesamt rund 30 neue Schulen durch Neubau und Reaktivierung ans Netz gehen, um den Bedarf zu decken. In einigen Fällen muss die Stadt dabei auf anderweitig genutzte städtische Grundstücke wie Garagenhöfe zurückgreifen oder Grundstücke tauschen. Konkrete Planungen gibt es für 18 Standorte.
